The third workshop was held in Porto from 25 to 29 March. The participants came from France and the Czech Republic.
The host school was Escola Artística Soares dos Reis. Participants arriving from France and the Czech Republich worked together with the students and teachers from Portugal. On Monday, they started with a with a tour of the school Monday and visited the local Banco de Materiais do Porto in the afternoon. On Tuesday, under the guidance of experienced cantor Rui Teixeira, the students created a digital tile design, which later began to implement in the clay form (led by José A. Guimarães) in the afternoon. On Wednesday, they visited the museum “Fundação de Serralves”, where an exhibition of contemporary contemporary art artist Joana Vasconcelos was just opened. In the afternoon, They continued working on the clay tile. On Thursday morning they finished work with clay models with the teacher CláudieTelheiro and in the afternoon they visited a very creative and inspiring exhibition by Maurits Cornelis Escher.
On Friday morning they made plaster models from the clay and engraved them with their own patterns according to a visit to Banco de Materiais . The workshop was closed with giving the certificates and gifts.
Overall, it was a very fruitful and inspiring week in a very pleasant host school environment, where the students not only practiced manual skills, but
and language proficiency. At the same time, they had an excellent opportunity to establish new “international” friendly contacts.
Unfortunately, the participants from Latvia did not come due to financial difficulties.
